Tobias Batz: Tobias Batz

Detour Gallery invites you to experience the provocative works of photographer, videographer, and painter Tobias Batz. Having worked in Manhattan, Batz pushed the boundaries of his crafts mainly by creating large format prints with graffiti inspired elements added in by hand. Batz often incorporated his own photographs of lascivious women which were digitally manipulated in order to heighten their beauty, eroticism, and fetishistic theme. His artwork emphasized the importance of creative expression and self-discovery. The world sadly lost this artist at a young age and as both a friend and patron of Tobias Batz, Detour Gallery’s owner Ken Schwartz hopes to celebrate Batz’s life and let his legacy live on through this solo exhibition “Essence.”
